Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Financial Services & Real Estate and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 2.53% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which rose 0.56% or 0.065 points to trade at 11.750 at the close. Meanwhile, Abertis Infr (MC:ABE) fell 0.41% or 0.080 points to end at 19.520 and Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) was down 0.42% or 0.017 points to 4.012 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX), which fell 4.21% or 0.89 points to trade at 20.24 at the close. ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS) declined 4.01% or 1.240 points to end at 29.690 and Iberdrola (MC:IBE) was down 3.96% or 0.250 points to 6.058.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 171 to 21 and 6 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.44% or 5.90 to $1330.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.27% or 0.17 to hit $63.98 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.58% or 0.39 to trade at $67.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.2388, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.8872.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 89.48.
