Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Media, Telecoms and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 6.41% or 1.10 points to trade at 18.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) added 3.87% or 0.110 points to end at 2.950 and ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) was up 3.28% or 4.05 points to 127.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which fell 2.50% or 0.55 points to trade at 21.45 at the close. Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) declined 2.12% or 2.90 points to end at 134.06 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) was down 1.83% or 92.00 points to 4947.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 244 to 235 and 170 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.04% or 0.02 to $48.35 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $49.73 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 1.34% or 17.75 to trade at $1338.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.79% to 4.4129, while USD/PLN rose 0.48% to 3.9611.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.27% at 95.69.
