Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Food and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 1.82%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Kleeman Hellas (AT:KLEr), which rose 30.32% or 0.470 points to trade at 2.020 at the close. Meanwhile, Reds (AT:CAMr) added 10.00% or 0.031 points to end at 0.341 and Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) was up 7.80% or 0.0110 points to 0.1520 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which fell 8.02% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.149 at the close. Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) declined 4.20% or 0.005 points to end at 0.117 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) was down 2.70% or 0.019 points to 0.685.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 70 to 31 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kleeman Hellas (AT:KLEr) rose to 52-week highs; rising 30.32% or 0.470 to 2.020.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.89% or 11.85 to $1343.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.21% or 1.00 to hit $46.34 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.69% or 0.79 to trade at $47.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.46% to 1.1241, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8579.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.40% at 95.08.
