Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Industrials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which rose 3.86% or 0.66 points to trade at 17.76 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) added 0.92% or 0.04 points to end at 4.06 and Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS) was up 0.69% or 0.03 points to 3.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Semapa (ELI:SEM), which fell 1.64% or 0.24 points to trade at 14.36 at the close. Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) declined 0.95% or 0.02 points to end at 2.51 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) was down 0.55% or 0.04 points to 7.24.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 15 to 15 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.71% or 1.27 to $73.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.18% or 1.56 to hit $70.00 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 3.40 to trade at $2,680.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 100.53.
