Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Banking and Developers sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.82%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which rose 5.45% or 5.04 points to trade at 97.58 at the close. Meanwhile, KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) added 4.90% or 7.65 points to end at 163.70 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) was up 4.33% or 650.00 points to 15,660.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which fell 7.57% or 1.05 points to trade at 12.76 at the close. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) declined 2.83% or 1.62 points to end at 55.54 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was down 2.50% or 0.50 points to 19.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 264 to 237 and 101 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 2.40% or 1.67 to $68.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 2.14% or 1.56 to hit $71.34 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.37% or 9.90 to trade at $2,694.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.24% to 4.28, while USD/PLN fell 0.19% to 3.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 100.23.
