Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Services, Transport and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.20%, while the ADX General index fell 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Dubai Islamic Bank (DU:DISB), which rose 1.94% or 0.100 points to trade at 5.250 at the close. Meanwhile, Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) added 0.96% or 0.02 points to end at 2.11 and Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) was up 0.95% or 0.010 points to 1.060 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were National General Insurance Co PSC (DU:NGIN), which fell 10.00% or 0.38 points to trade at 3.42 at the close. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) declined 6.34% or 0.034 points to end at 0.502 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) was down 3.70% or 0.100 points to 2.600.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which rose 12.96% to 3.05, Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which was up 9.41% to settle at 0.93 and National Corp Tourism Hotels (AD:NCTH) which gained 8.57% to close at 3.80.
The worst performers were Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which was down 7.74% to 1.43 in late trade, Finance House (AD:FH) which lost 2.56% to settle at 1.90 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was down 2.44% to 0.400 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 18 to 7 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 12 fell and 12 advanced, while 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) fell to 52-week lows; down 6.34% or 0.034 to 0.502. Shares in ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.70% or 0.100 to 2.600. Shares in Finance House (AD:FH) fell to all time lows; falling 2.56% or 0.05 to 1.90.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.44% or 0.14 to $30.48 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.65% or 0.20 to hit $31.52 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.68% or 7.50 to trade at $1112.80 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED fell 0.21% to 3.9775.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 99.47.
