Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 1.82%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Boskalis Westmin (AMS:BOSN), which rose 1.05% or 0.46 points to trade at 44.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Gemalto (AMS:GTO) added 0.31% or 0.23 points to end at 73.85 and TNT Express (AMS:TNTE) was up 0.28% or 0.021 points to 7.531 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Royal Dutch Shell A (AMS:RDSa), which fell 3.42% or 0.77 points to trade at 21.62 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) declined 3.41% or 0.24 points to end at 6.68 and ASML Holding (AMS:ASML) was down 2.60% or 2.05 points to 76.85.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 153 to 61 and 2 ended unchanged.

The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 9.19% to 35.04.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.94% or 0.37 to $38.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.29% or 0.12 to hit $43.09 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.32% or 15.00 to trade at $1123.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.09% to 1.1394, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.7362.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.97% at 94.83.
