Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Healthcare and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which rose 2.95% or 0.070 points to trade at 2.440 at the close. Meanwhile, Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) added 1.91% or 1.930 points to end at 102.910 and Coca-Cola Femsa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:KOFL) was up 1.77% or 2.590 points to 148.620 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO), which fell 2.06% or 2.020 points to trade at 96.070 at the close. Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) declined 2.03% or 2.000 points to end at 96.570 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) was down 1.65% or 0.730 points to 43.440.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 113 to 53 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.39% or 4.80 to $1247.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.30% or 1.12 to hit $49.74 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.81% or 0.90 to trade at $50.54 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.29% to 18.6471, while EUR/MXN rose 0.23% to 21.1830.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 94.00.
