Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 1.08%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV:GAPB), which rose 5.95% or 22.30 points to trade at 397.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:AC) added 5.56% or 9.81 points to end at 186.40 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB) was up 3.80% or 6.46 points to 176.49 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ELEKTRA), which fell 6.60% or 17.60 points to trade at 249.20 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB) declined 1.55% or 0.42 points to end at 26.59 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO) was down 1.41% or 2.01 points to 140.49.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 122 to 99 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV:GAPB) rose to all time highs; up 5.95% or 22.30 to 397.20. Shares in Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ELEKTRA) fell to 5-year lows; falling 6.60% or 17.60 to 249.20.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.81% or 21.69 to $2,654.51 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $68.50 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.08% or 0.06 to trade at $72.25 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.37% to 20.20, while EUR/MXN rose 0.24% to 21.39.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 105.71.
