Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.73%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 7.83% or 0.2760 points to trade at 3.8000 at the close. Meanwhile, Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) added 6.41% or 0.202 points to end at 3.354 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) was up 2.71% or 0.81 points to 30.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V), which fell 2.16% or 0.54 points to trade at 24.43 at the close. Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V) declined 1.40% or 0.135 points to end at 9.515 and Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV) was down 1.10% or 0.42 points to 37.93.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 93 to 78 and 10 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for May delivery was up 2.60% or 1.05 to $41.38 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 3.93% or 1.51 to hit $39.97 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 2.87% or 35.30 to trade at $1265.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.83% to 1.1318, while EUR/GBP fell 0.75% to 0.7812.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.98% at 94.76.
