Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Technology and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 1.63%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Brunello Cucinelli (BIT:BCU), which rose 7.52% or 6.40 points to trade at 91.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) added 6.63% or 0.33 points to end at 5.34 and Moncler SpA (BIT:MONC) was up 6.57% or 3.21 points to 52.06 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI), which fell 5.70% or 0.12 points to trade at 1.92 at the close. Eni SpA (BIT:ENI) declined 3.04% or 0.43 points to end at 13.57 and Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF) was down 1.44% or 0.30 points to 20.57.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 321 to 184 and 46 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) rose to 52-week highs; up 6.63% or 0.33 to 5.34.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 2.22% or 1.55 to $68.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.96% or 1.43 to hit $71.47 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.19% or 5.00 to trade at $2,689.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.38% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.31% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 100.31.
