Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 1.39% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SBF 120 index fell 1.29%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF), which rose 6.57% or 18.00 points to trade at 292.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB) added 2.78% or 1.20 points to end at 44.29 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:MICP) was up 1.31% or 1.55 points to 119.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 4.62% or 0.93 points to trade at 19.26 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 3.93% or 0.49 points to end at 12.11 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE) was down 3.90% or 0.91 points to 22.44.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF) which rose 6.57% to 292.10, Technip Energies BV (PA:TE) which was up 4.06% to settle at 10.51 and Nexans SA (PA:NEXS) which gained 3.11% to close at 64.60.
The worst performers were Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (PA:CASP) which was down 5.20% to 26.41 in late trade, Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which lost 4.96% to settle at 6.80 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which was down 4.62% to 19.26 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 476 to 116 and 73 ended unchanged.
Shares in Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.78% or 1.20 to 44.29.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 2.63% or 46.65 to $1728.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.98% or 1.26 to hit $62.27 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.56% or 1.03 to trade at $65.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.31% to 1.2139, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8687.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 90.540.
