Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.50%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX), which rose 3.04% or 6.60 points to trade at 223.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) added 1.47% or 1.44 points to end at 99.34 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) was up 1.30% or 3.00 points to 233.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which fell 2.98% or 0.74 points to trade at 24.11 at the close. Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) declined 2.33% or 5.60 points to end at 234.30 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was down 1.97% or 2.95 points to 146.50.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which rose 3.89% to 56.15, Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which was up 3.79% to settle at 6.55 and EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) which gained 3.04% to close at 223.60.
The worst performers were Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was down 4.90% to 13.49 in late trade, X Fab Silicon Foundries EV (EPA:XFAB) which lost 4.42% to settle at 4.15 and Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which was down 3.96% to 70.30 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 304 to 204 and 81 ended unchanged.

Shares in X Fab Silicon Foundries EV (EPA:XFAB) fell to 3-years lows; falling 4.42% or 0.19 to 4.15. Shares in EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) rose to all time highs; rising 3.04% or 6.60 to 223.60. Shares in Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) fell to 3-years lows; losing 3.96% or 2.90 to 70.30.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.25% or 6.75 to $2,742.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.53% or 1.76 to hit $71.25 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 2.34% or 1.71 to trade at $74.81 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.43% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 103.79.
