Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 1.06%, while the SBF 120 index added 1.13%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 4.41% or 2.08 points to trade at 49.28 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) added 3.20% or 0.64 points to end at 20.77 and Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) was up 3.18% or 1.15 points to 37.28 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY), which fell 1.55% or 1.57 points to trade at 99.43 at the close. Danone SA (EPA:DANO) declined 0.79% or 0.45 points to end at 56.59 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was down 0.62% or 0.85 points to 136.50.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which rose 13.31% to 2.05, Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was up 7.34% to settle at 2.38 and Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which gained 6.85% to close at 6.47.
The worst performers were Biomerieux SA (EPA:BIOX) which was down 3.49% to 95.10 in late trade, Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) which lost 1.55% to settle at 99.43 and Dassault Aviation SA (EPA:AM) which was down 1.03% to 182.10 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 355 to 179 and 84 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.85% or 16.80 to $2,001.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.66% or 1.21 to hit $74.18 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.24% or 0.96 to trade at $78.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.57% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 101.83.
