Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Industrials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.93% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.95%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which rose 4.16% or 0.99 points to trade at 24.79 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) added 3.41% or 0.67 points to end at 20.17 and Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) was up 3.10% or 1.09 points to 36.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX), which fell 1.12% or 1.70 points to trade at 149.45 at the close. Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) declined 0.56% or 0.44 points to end at 78.42 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) was down 0.49% or 0.05 points to 10.50.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Mcphy Energy (EPA:MCPHY) which rose 16.62% to 15.26, Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) which was up 8.13% to settle at 126.30 and Ovh Groupe SAS (EPA:OVH) which gained 5.87% to close at 16.33.
The worst performers were Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which was down 4.49% to 327.40 in late trade, Biomerieux SA (EPA:BIOX) which lost 2.45% to settle at 103.45 and Ipsen SA (EPA:IPN) which was down 1.55% to 92.15 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 378 to 178 and 79 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.38% or 6.50 to $1,710.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 4.31% or 4.08 to hit $98.65 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 4.37% or 4.42 to trade at $105.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.79% to 1.02, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.77% at 107.08.
