Investing.com – Finland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 0.42% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV), which rose 9.69% or 2.87 points to trade at 32.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Valmt (HE:VALMT) added 4.76% or 0.88 points to end at 19.36 and DNA Oyj (HE:DNAO) was up 3.18% or 0.5600 points to 18.1600 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which fell 4.00% or 0.1660 points to trade at 3.9830 at the close. Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) declined 3.40% or 0.65 points to end at 18.35 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) was down 2.52% or 0.71 points to 27.43.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 76 to 70 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.00% or 0.1660 to 3.9830.
Brent oil for December delivery was up 1.37% or 1.05 to $77.49 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.90% or 1.26 to hit $67.69 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.17% or 2.10 to trade at $1231.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.69% to 1.1393, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8834.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 96.13.
