Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Real Estate, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 1.68%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5), which rose 7.73% or 0.75 points to trade at 10.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Viavarejo Unt (SA:VVAR11) added 7.32% or 0.99 points to end at 14.51 and Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3) was up 4.80% or 0.52 points to 11.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Braskem SA (SA:BRKM5), which fell 1.75% or 0.95 points to trade at 53.40 at the close. Smiles Fidelidade SA (SA:SMLS3) declined 1.47% or 0.56 points to end at 37.44 and Tim Participacoes SA (SA:TIMP3) was down 1.07% or 0.12 points to 11.05.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 297 to 158 and 24 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tim Participacoes SA (SA:TIMP3) fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.07% or 0.12 to 11.05.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.06% to 41.12.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.15% or 1.80 to $1225.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.58% or 0.40 to hit $69.52 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 3.56% or 4.35 to trade at $117.75 .
USD/BRL was down 0.63% to 3.6870, while EUR/BRL fell 1.03% to 4.2277.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 95.75.
