Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.98% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 0.36% or 0.270 points to trade at 76.080 at the close. Meanwhile, Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) added 0.22% or 0.21 points to end at 97.11 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) was up 0.10% or 0.04 points to 47.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which fell 1.94% or 2.90 points to trade at 146.35 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 1.75% or 0.25 points to end at 14.03 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was down 1.75% or 0.685 points to 38.530.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 97 to 16 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.36% or 4.68 to $1319.98 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.33% or 0.62 to hit $45.95 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.14% or 0.07 to trade at $51.35 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.2018, while EUR/GBP rose 0.35% to 0.9294.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 91.97.
