Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.38% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (EBR:ARGX), which rose 3.50% or 16.40 points to trade at 485.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Aedifica (EBR:AOO) added 1.34% or 0.85 points to end at 64.10 and Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) was up 1.06% or 0.70 points to 66.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS), which fell 4.60% or 3.50 points to trade at 72.55 at the close. Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) declined 2.04% or 0.70 points to end at 33.58 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI) was down 1.77% or 1.02 points to 56.74.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 49 to 42 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.22% or 5.80 to $2,682.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.91% or 1.37 to hit $70.19 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.49% or 1.11 to trade at $73.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 100.50.
