Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 1.03%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Sofina (BR:SOF), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 124.75 at the close. Meanwhile, KBC (BR:KBC) fell 0.03% or 0.020 points to end at 69.960 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was down 0.13% or 0.050 points to 38.265 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which fell 9.58% or 4.47 points to trade at 42.23 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) declined 4.92% or 1.56 points to end at 30.23 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was down 2.13% or 0.63 points to 29.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 74 to 34 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.71% or 8.98 to $1268.98 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.49% or 0.73 to hit $49.77 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.04% or 1.05 to trade at $52.54 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.61% to 1.1748, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.8952.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.58% at 93.23.
