Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Energy, Oil & Gas and Developers sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which rose 2.80% or 1.50 points to trade at 55.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 1.86% or 1.17 points to end at 64.18 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) was up 1.64% or 0.09 points to 5.58 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which fell 2.99% or 0.28 points to trade at 9.07 at the close. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) declined 2.73% or 0.080 points to end at 2.850 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) was down 2.71% or 0.27 points to 9.68.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 319 to 262 and 176 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.48% or 0.26 to $54.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.39% or 0.22 to hit $57.05 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.08% or 0.95 to trade at $1139.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.22% to 4.4062, while USD/PLN rose 0.82% to 4.2438.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 103.50.
