Investing.com - U.S. stocks were mixed after the closing bell on Tuesday.
At the close of U.S. trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.46%, the S&P 500 index shed 0.41%, while the Nasdaq 100 index climbed 0.23%.
Earlier in the day, preliminary official data showed that Gross domestic product in the U.S. rose less-than-expected to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 2.0% in the last quarter from 2.5% in the preceding quarter.
Analysts had expected U.S. gross domestic product to rise 2.5% in the last quarter.
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, European stock markets closed lower. France’s CAC 40 was down 0.84%; Germany’s DAX shed 1.22%; Britain’s FTSE 100 declined 0.30%; and the EURO STOXX 50 fell 1.09%.
