Investing.com - The number of U.S. workers filing for unemployment benefits dropped faster than forecast last week, official data showed on Thursday.
In a report, the U.S. Labor Department said there were a seasonally adjusted 453,000 initial jobless claims during the week ending May 29, after 463,000 such claims during the previous week, whose figure was revised down up from 460,000.
Analysts had expected last week's figure to come in at 455,000.
Following the release of the data, the U.S. dollar was slightly up against the euro, with EUR/USD shedding 0.01% to reach 1.2248.
