TOKYO, June 22 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei stock average rose 0.4 percent on Monday, with brewer Sapporo Holdings and car maker Nissan Motor Co making robust gains, though caution about a possible correction in the market remained strong. The benchmark Nikkei gained 40.01 points to 9,826.27 after falling 3.5 percent last week, its worst weekly performance in three months. The Nikkei has risen some 45 percent from a March 10 low, and hit an eight-month high on June 12.
The broader Topix rose 0.4 percent to 922.48. (Reporting by Masayuki Kitano)
