TOKYO, Oct 22 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average fell 0.8 percent on Thursday, dented by exporter shares such as Advantest Corp after U.S. stocks slipped on a late sell-off in financial shares.
The benchmark Nikkei fell 82.30 points to 10,251.09, while the broader Topix fell 0.7 percent to 907.38.
Honda Motor Co edged up after starting the day slightly lower, following a newspaper report that the automaker will likely post an operating profit of 60 billion yen ($660 million) for the April-September first half, beating its forecast for a loss on cost-cutting and solid sales of fuel-efficient cars.
