TOKYO, Aug 30 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average rose 2 percent on Monday after the yen slipped as the Bank of Japan began an emergency policy meeting at 0000 GMT and after revised second quarter U.S. GDP was less gloomy than expected.
The benchmark Nikkei <.N225> gained 188.86 points to 9,179.92, after rising 1 percent on Friday.
The broader Topix <.TOPX> added 1.5 percent to 832.14. (Reporting by Aiko Hayashi; Editing by Edwina Gibbs)
