BEIJING, June 17 (Reuters) - The G20 is not an appropriate venue for discussing China's currency policy, the foreign ministry said on Thursday, after fresh calls in the United States for Beijing to free up controls on the yuan's exchange rate.
The yuan was not the reason for the global financial crisis, nor does it provide a solution for rebalancing the international economy, ministry spokesman Qin Gang told a regular news briefing.
