Investing.com – The number of U.S. workers filing for unemployment benefits fell further than forecast last week, official data showed on Thursday.
According to the U.S. Labor Department, in the week ending March 27, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 439,000, down from the previous week's figure of 445,000, which was revised up from 442,000.
Economists had expected the figure to drop to only 440,000.
In the wake of the data, the euro pared losses against the U.S. dollar, although EUR/USD was still down 0.16%, trading at 1.3489.
