WASHINGTON, March 8 (Reuters) - Greece's Finance Minister George Papaconstantinou will hold informal meetings with the International Monetary Fund in Washington, an IMF official said on Monday.
The official said the meeting was a "courtesy call" at the start of a visit on Monday to the United States of a Greek delegation led by Prime Minister George Papandreou.
Papandreou last said if Europe did not help Greece deal with its budget deficit crisis, he could turn to the IMF as a last resort. The IMF official emphasized that the meeting with the finance minister was "informal". (Reporting by Lesley Wroughton; Editing by James Dalgleish)
