FRANKFURT, March 16 (Reuters) - Ford Motor Co will align production capacity at its European operations to match a significant decline in demand and warned on Monday more steps could easily come. "Ford of Europe must return to sustainable profitability as soon as possible. We will do whatever it takes to ensure the continuing viability of our business, and further actions can be expected," said John Fleming, Ford's head of the region, in a statement.
As part of the measures, its Valencia plant that builds the Fiesta and Focus employing a staff of 6,300 will go to a two shift operation from three starting May 1. (Reporting by Christiaan Hetzner)
