Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services, Insurance and Warehousing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 added 1.08%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Tokyu Fudosan (T:3289), which rose 5.20% or 43.0 points to trade at 870.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Sumitomo Realty & Development Co. (T:8830) added 4.10% or 163.0 points to end at 4143.0 and T&D Holdings, Inc. (T:8795) was up 3.82% or 57.0 points to 1550.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Obayashi Corp. (T:1802), which fell 3.05% or 34.0 points to trade at 1079.0 at the close. Trend Micro Inc. (T:4704) declined 2.27% or 100.0 points to end at 4300.0 and Uny Group Holdings Co., Ltd. (T:8270) was down 2.01% or 14.0 points to 683.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 979 to 891 and 1 ended unchanged.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 0.30% to 26.79.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.40% or 0.65 to $47.03 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.06% or 0.53 to hit $50.26 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.85% or 10.10 to trade at $1177.40 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.13% to 119.06, while EUR/JPY rose 0.14% to 135.57.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.01% at 94.47.
