Investing.com - Consumer price inflation in Switzerland accelerated less-than-expected in April, official data showed on Monday.
In a report, the Swiss Federal Statistics Office said consumer price inflation rose by 0.1% in April, below expectations for a 0.2% increase.
Swiss consumer prices rose by 0.6% in March.
Year-over-year, Swiss consumer prices fell at an annualized rate of 1.0% last month, after declining at a rate of 1% in March. Analysts had expected year-over-year CPI to ease at an annualized rate of 0.9%.
Following the release of the data, the Swiss franc remained lower against the U.S. dollar, with USD/CHF gaining 0.69% to trade at 0.9243.
