In a report, the Swiss Federal Statistics Office said consumer price inflation was flat in August, compared to expectations for a 0.1% increase.
Swiss consumer prices fell by 0.5% in July.
Year-over-year, Swiss consumer prices fell at an annualized rate of 0.5% last month, compared to expectations for a 0.4% decline, after falling at a rate of 0.7% in July.
Following the release of the data, the Swiss franc remained lower against the U.S. dollar, with USD/CHF gaining 0.27% to trade at 0.9583.
