Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 1.33% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO), which rose 4.75% or 0.52 points to trade at 11.37 at the close. Meanwhile, Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) added 4.08% or 1.38 points to end at 35.03 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) was up 3.55% or 0.13 points to 3.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NN Group (AS:NN), which fell 0.71% or 0.21 points to trade at 29.22 at the close. Aegon (AS:AEGN) declined 0.65% or 0.032 points to end at 4.904 and ING Groep NV (AS:ING) was up 0.05% or 0.005 points to 10.865.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 140 to 25 and 9 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 8.31% to 20.33.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.65% or 0.25 to $38.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.00% or 0.40 to hit $40.25 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.70% or 8.70 to trade at $1228.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1325, while EUR/GBP rose 0.17% to 0.7873.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 94.88.
