Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Beverage and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 1.48% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delhaize Group (BRU:DELB), which rose 3.00% or 2.39 points to trade at 82.07 at the close. Meanwhile, NV Bekaert SA (BRU:BEKB) added 1.23% or 0.32 points to end at 26.41 and Elia (BRU:ELI) was down 0.40% or 0.150 points to 37.055 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL), which fell 3.73% or 0.41 points to trade at 10.58 at the close. Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BRU:ABI) declined 3.24% or 3.35 points to end at 100.20 and KBC (BRU:KBC) was down 3.02% or 1.840 points to 59.000.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 143 to 24 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL) fell to 3-years lows; down 3.73% or 0.41 to 10.58.
Gold for December delivery was up 1.95% or 22.00 to $1149.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.29% or 0.12 to hit $41.39 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.48% or 0.23 to trade at $46.94 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.78% to 1.1206, while EUR/GBP rose 0.74% to 0.7144.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.50% at 95.94.
