Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Technology and Basic Resources sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 1.29% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 6.75% or 0.017 points to trade at 0.270 at the close. Meanwhile, Intracom Hold (AT:INRr) added 6.12% or 0.033 points to end at 0.572 and Hygeia (AT:HYGr) was up 4.30% or 0.016 points to 0.388 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Korres (AT:KRRr), which fell 4.14% or 0.180 points to trade at 4.170 at the close. Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) declined 2.38% or 0.040 points to end at 1.630 and Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr) was down 1.92% or 0.38 points to 19.42.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 64 to 42 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Intracom Hold (AT:INRr) rose to 52-week highs; rising 6.12% or 0.033 to 0.572. Shares in Hygeia (AT:HYGr) rose to 3-years highs; rising 4.30% or 0.016 to 0.388.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.13% or 1.54 to $1217.56 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.38% or 0.63 to hit $46.12 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.28% or 0.61 to trade at $48.35 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.11% to 1.1399, while EUR/GBP fell 0.49% to 0.8815.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 95.59.
