Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB gained 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Moncler SpA (MILAN:MONC), which rose 9.13% or 1.48 points to trade at 17.69 at the close. Meanwhile, UBI Banca (MILAN:UBI) added 4.87% or 0.345 points to end at 7.430 and Buzzi Unicem (MILAN:BZU) was up 2.65% or 0.37 points to 14.33 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediaset (MILAN:MS), which fell 4.93% or 0.228 points to trade at 4.400 at the close. Autogrill (MILAN:AGL) declined 2.92% or 0.24 points to end at 8.15 and Luxottica Group (MILAN:LUX) was down 2.47% or 1.45 points to 57.25.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 242 to 224 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Moncler SpA (MILAN:MONC) rose to all time highs; rising 9.13% or 1.48 to 17.69.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.74% or 0.45 to $61.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.40% or 0.94 to hit $68.32 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.96% or 23.40 to trade at $1215.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.38% to 1.1368, while EUR/GBP rose 0.88% to 0.7219.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.15% at 93.61.
