LONDON, June 17 (Reuters) - Deutsche Bank has hired Ram Nayak from rival Credit Suisse as head of global markets structuring, a cross-asset class business, the German bank said on Wednesday.
Nayak will also become a member of the bank's global markets executive committee, a position rarely accorded to outsiders at Deutsche Bank. The committee consists of top managers for the global markets business, which also includes sales and trading and research.
At Credit Suisse, Nayak was global head of emerging markets excluding Brazil, and earlier headed structuring in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
"Structuring skills are increasingly important as market conditions lead clients to seek new solutions for raising capital and reducing risk," Anshu Jain, head of global markets at Deutsche Bank, said in a statement.
Nayak will take on some of the responsibilities of his predecessor Yassine Bouhara, who also heads global markets for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Bouhara is taking leave, Deutsche Bank said, adding that it would name a successor for his other duties in the near future.
Nayak will be based in London. (Reporting by Olesya Dmitracova; Editing by Rupert Winchester)
