Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 added 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN), which rose 4.55% or 0.75 points to trade at 17.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG) added 4.07% or 0.34 points to end at 8.70 and Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) was up 3.28% or 0.040 points to 1.250 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ), which fell 9.25% or 2.14 points to trade at 20.98 at the close. Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) declined 7.69% or 0.050 points to end at 0.600 and Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO) was down 5.00% or 2.50 points to 47.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lagos by 42 to 37 and 19 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.99% or 1.36 to $44.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 2.95% or 1.42 to hit $46.69 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.08% or 13.22 to trade at $1210.08 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.56% to 359.180, while USD/NGN fell 10.07% to 314.750.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 95.78.
