Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Goods & Services and Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.51% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 1.94% or 0.340 points to trade at 17.910 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) added 1.84% or 13.93 points to end at 769.61 and Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO) was up 1.76% or 1.58 points to 91.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which fell 1.99% or 0.760 points to trade at 37.460 at the close. Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB De CV (MX:SANMEXB) declined 1.95% or 0.700 points to end at 35.120 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) was down 1.42% or 1.090 points to 75.580.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 163 to 83 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.53% or 6.47 to $1225.67 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 4.29% or 2.02 to hit $45.05 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 3.79% or 1.88 to trade at $47.73 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.60% to 18.3072, while EUR/MXN rose 0.60% to 20.7706.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 96.01.
