Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Utilities, Healthcare and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.53%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.61%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP), which rose 2.82% or 0.51 points to trade at 18.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) added 1.88% or 1.12 points to end at 60.63 and Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) was up 1.79% or 1.17 points to 66.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sodexo (PA:EXHO), which fell 6.03% or 6.85 points to trade at 106.75 at the close. Vinci SA (PA:SGEF) declined 2.51% or 1.89 points to end at 73.45 and L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP) was down 1.63% or 2.95 points to 178.55.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) which rose 2.82% to 18.40, Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which was up 2.51% to settle at 12.450 and Worldline SA (PA:WLN) which gained 2.46% to close at 33.095.
The worst performers were Sodexo (PA:EXHO) which was down 6.03% to 106.75 in late trade, Television Francaise 1 SA (PA:TFFP) which lost 5.91% to settle at 11.230 and SES (PA:SESFd) which was down 4.22% to 19.76 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 378 to 221 and 82 ended unchanged.
Shares in Worldline SA (PA:WLN) rose to all time highs; rising 2.46% or 0.795 to 33.095.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 5.23% to 15.11.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.13% or 1.53 to $1223.23 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.44% or 1.10 to hit $46.23 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.13% or 1.02 to trade at $48.81 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.54% to 1.1412, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.8811.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 95.64.
