Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB lost 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Salvatore Ferragamo (MILAN:SFER), which rose 1.40% or 0.39 points to trade at 28.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Moncler SpA (MILAN:MONC) added 0.97% or 0.17 points to end at 17.64 and Atlantia (MILAN:ATL) was up 0.89% or 0.21 points to 23.79 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Azimut Holding (MILAN:AZMT), which fell 4.16% or 1.02 points to trade at 23.48 at the close. STMicroelectronics (MILAN:STM) declined 2.45% or 0.180 points to end at 7.155 and UBI Banca (MILAN:UBI) was down 2.37% or 0.185 points to 7.625.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 283 to 166 and 6 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.93% or 0.45 to $48.00 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.51% or 0.83 to hit $54.44 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.90% or 9.90 to trade at $1084.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.08% to 1.0977, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.7078.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 97.39.
