Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU), which rose 1.58% or 5.95 points to trade at 382.56 at the close. Meanwhile, PKO Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) added 1.40% or 0.41 points to end at 29.80 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was up 1.06% or 0.18 points to 17.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which fell 5.23% or 2.90 points to trade at 52.50 at the close. Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW) declined 2.12% or 1.76 points to end at 81.24 and Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) was down 1.35% or 0.39 points to 28.51.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 315 to 251 and 105 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 2.48% or 1.09 to $42.89 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.84% or 0.88 to hit $46.66 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1166.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.18% to 4.2840, while USD/PLN rose 0.37% to 3.8822.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 97.03.
