Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Power, Mining and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 1.03%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Lenta Ltd (MCX:LNTADR), which rose 2.55% or 9 points to trade at 362 at the close. Meanwhile, Magnit (MCX:MGNT) added 1.71% or 159.0 points to end at 9445.0 and SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) was up 0.69% or 1.05 points to 153.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL), which fell 4.62% or 1.850 points to trade at 38.180 at the close. Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) declined 4.26% or 0.0430 points to end at 0.9670 and RusHydro JSC (MCX:HYDR) was down 2.46% or 0.0210 points to 0.8310.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 155 to 72 and 15 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 1.41% to 16.100.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.47% or 5.99 to $1288.99 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.27% or 0.66 to hit $51.38 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.58% or 0.92 to trade at $57.23 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.10% to 57.3825, while EUR/RUB rose 0.28% to 67.9220.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 93.08.
