Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, S&P Lima Juniors and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Cerro Verde (LM:CVE), which rose 1.82% or 0.300 points to trade at 16.800 at the close. Meanwhile, Inretail Peru (LM:INR) added 0.84% or 0.100 points to end at 12.000 and Ferreyros (LM:FER) was up 0.83% or 0.010 points to 1.200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Minsur (LM:MINi), which fell 8.54% or 0.070 points to trade at 0.750 at the close. Relapasa (LM:REL) declined 3.51% or 0.006 points to end at 0.165 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was down 2.26% or 0.009 points to 0.390.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 9 to 5 and 5 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 3.87% or 1.78 to $44.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 3.76% or 1.86 to hit $47.74 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.29% or 3.30 to trade at $1118.10 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.75% to 3.2287, while EUR/PEN rose 0.45% to 3.5847.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 96.14.
