Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Cement and Cement & Glass sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Mag Tech (TW:2358), which rose 10.00% or 0.69 points to trade at 7.59 at the close. Meanwhile, Epileds Tech (TW:4956) added 9.96% or 2.30 points to end at 25.40 and Para (TW:6226) was up 9.91% or 0.65 points to 7.21 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Crowell (TW:2528), which fell 8.05% or 0.63 points to trade at 7.20 at the close. Tainan Cayman (TW:5906) declined 7.14% or 0.500 points to end at 6.500 and Mirle Auto (TW:2464) was down 6.81% or 3.20 points to 43.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 467 to 301 and 85 ended unchanged.
Shares in Epileds Tech (TW:4956) rose to 52-week highs; rising 9.96% or 2.30 to 25.40. Shares in Para (TW:6226) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.91% or 0.65 to 7.21.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.02% or 0.01 to $46.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $48.73 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.06% or 0.75 to trade at $1315.75 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.03% to 31.725, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2102.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 96.07.
