Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , Glass and Trading & Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Geo Vision (TW:3356), which rose 10.00% or 4.25 points to trade at 46.75 at the close. Meanwhile, China Wire&Cab (TW:1603) added 10.00% or 1.35 points to end at 14.85 and Leadtek (TW:2465) was up 9.96% or 0.80 points to 8.83 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Johnson (TW:1736), which fell 6.78% or 3.25 points to trade at 44.65 at the close. Taiflex (TW:8039) declined 5.08% or 1.55 points to end at 28.95 and Chipmos (TW:8150) was down 4.81% or 1.40 points to 27.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 374 to 367 and 130 ended unchanged.
Shares in Johnson (TW:1736) fell to 52-week lows; falling 6.78% or 3.25 to 44.65. Shares in China Wire&Cab (TW:1603) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 10.00% or 1.35 to 14.85. Shares in Taiflex (TW:8039) fell to 3-years lows; down 5.08% or 1.55 to 28.95. Shares in Chipmos (TW:8150) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.81% or 1.40 to 27.70.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.18% or 0.09 to $50.54 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $51.35 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.26% or 3.25 to trade at $1264.25 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.41% to 31.655, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2127.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 98.41.
