Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Biotech & Medical Care, Rubber and Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 1.20% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Coadna (TW:4984), which rose 10.00% or 3.05 points to trade at 33.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Rotam (TW:4141) added 10.00% or 3.05 points to end at 33.55 and Kinsus (TW:3189) was up 10.00% or 6.30 points to 69.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mosel (TW:2342), which fell 10.00% or 0.27 points to trade at 2.43 at the close. Liontravel (TW:2731) declined 6.56% or 10.50 points to end at 149.50 and Eva Airways (TW:2618) was down 4.47% or 0.85 points to 18.15.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 607 to 228 and 3 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.18% or 1.06 to $49.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.56% or 0.81 to hit $52.73 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.43% or 4.90 to trade at $1151.30 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 1.12% to 32.565, while TWD/CNY fell 0.10% to 0.1955.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 95.56.
