Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Investment Trust and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.24% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Kotmale Holdings PLC (CM:LAMB), which rose 25.00% or 26.60 points to trade at 133.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Mackwoods Energy PLC (CM:MWEL) added 20.83% or 0.500 points to end at 2.900 and Gestetner of Ceylon PLC (CM:GEST) was up 12.68% or 13.50 points to 120.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ), which fell 17.63% or 10.70 points to trade at 50.00 at the close. Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH) declined 15.56% or 2.10 points to end at 11.40 and Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) was down 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.600.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 95 to 68 and 63 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kotmale Holdings PLC (CM:LAMB) rose to all time highs; rising 25.00% or 26.60 to 133.00. Shares in Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ) fell to 3-years lows; losing 17.63% or 10.70 to 50.00. Shares in Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) fell to all time lows; losing 14.29% or 0.100 to 0.600.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.91% or 0.91 to $48.63 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 1.67% or 0.85 to hit $51.77 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.09% or 1.05 to trade at $1201.55 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.24% to 185.050, while USD/LKR rose 0.02% to 151.880.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 101.49.
