Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Construction & Engineering, Healthcare and Palm Oil sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE), which rose 28.57% or 0.200 points to trade at 0.900 at the close. Meanwhile, Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) added 16.67% or 0.100 points to end at 0.700 and Serendib Engineering Group PLC (CM:IDL) was up 16.36% or 0.90 points to 6.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lanka Cement PLC (CM:LCEM), which fell 6.98% or 0.30 points to trade at 4.00 at the close. Alufab PLC (CM:ALUF) declined 6.57% or 1.90 points to end at 27.00 and Lighthouse Hotel PLC (CM:LHL) was down 6.41% or 3.30 points to 48.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 85 to 70 and 47 ended unchanged.
Shares in Lanka Cement PLC (CM:LCEM) fell to 52-week lows; down 6.98% or 0.30 to 4.00. Shares in Alufab PLC (CM:ALUF) fell to 52-week lows; falling 6.57% or 1.90 to 27.00. Shares in Lighthouse Hotel PLC (CM:LHL) fell to 52-week lows; losing 6.41% or 3.30 to 48.20.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 1.36% or 0.67 to $48.64 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.16% or 0.60 to hit $51.16 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.24% or 2.95 to trade at $1233.15 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.34% to 188.050, while USD/LKR fell 0.51% to 151.550.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 100.04.
